Greetings fellow members. You guys are awesome! Those that visit the site regularly will have noticed that we have made many changes that vastly improved the ability of members to connect and network with one another. Here are some of our exciting new features:
Groups: Create groups & spark collaborations. Groups lets members of common interests create groups for fun or collaboration.
Create open, closed or invite-only groups.
Assign group admins to moderate group activities.
Invite or eject group members.
Categorize groups under separate categories.
Start a group discussion.
Make a collaborative to-do list.
Manage group-based photo albums.
Share files & documents with group members.
Photo sharing: Photo sharing lets members easily upload photos and organize them into albums.
Upload multiple photos from your computer via drag & drop. You can also take a picture and upload directly from your phone's camera.
EXIF metadata are used to automatically fill in the title, description and date of your photo. GPS coordinates are also extracted to tag a location to your photos.
View photos without losing where you were. Popup gallery shows on top of stream and lets you swiftly browse, like, comment and tag photos in an album.
Tag the faces of you & your friends on your photo. You can also add custom labels to your photos.
Conversations:Private messaging instantly enables users to send messages to one another.
Invite multiple users to host a group chat.
Share files, photos or documents within the conversation.
Get notified via site notifications whenever a person sends you a message, via email when you are away.
We understand that these new features while increasing user communication and productivity also add a level of complexity to the site. We are currently testing an online help desk system with support tickets and should have it ready to go in the next week or so. NBAA 2014 Orlando:
NBAA 2014 is scheduled for October 21-23 in Orlando FL. Group member Michael Miller is planning his annual networking event for the 2014 Orlando show. Michael's event last year in Las Vegas attracted more than 75 members.

Business Aviation Network is looking for a volunteer part-time Online Community Manager intern who can volunteer approximately 5 to 10 hours per week and serve as one of the online “voices” of the Business Aviation community.
An Online Community Manager’s mission is to drive member engagement and increase organic audience growth and participation. Responsibilities include:
Monitor and maintain the company’s online communities while sending recommendations and business opportunities up to the corporate marketing department.
Welcome new members to the community and acclimate them to the group.
Moderate conversations and encourage trending topics.
Promote active members, introduce members to other members who have something in common.
Create and maintain a editorial publishing schedule. Develop ways to increase engagement and conversion.
Keep up with best practices and trends in Community Management.
Experience in Business Aviation related fields, preferably marketing, communications, digital or journalism. Any experience as a social media community management and digital media experience.
Direct experience managing online social media presence.
Active involvement in social media networks, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
Experience writing creative web content and social media content that is engaging, creative, succinct and adheres to the communities “voice” and tone requirements. Analytical intelligence.
Eloquent communication skills.
Ability to bond with your online audience and create an emotional connection with them.
Experience with Community Manager Tools such as Sprout Social, HootSuite, Google Analytics, SocialMention, CompFight, TweetReach, Yahoo Pipes, PostRank, Cadmus… The list is endless! We just need to see that you know some of these and actively look for bigger-better tools to help you in your role.
This is a remote/work at home opportunity. Selected applicants will be expected to participate in weekly video conference meetings with other members of the BAN team.
